A new brass band, Birmingham Metro Brass will launch on 10th October in the heart of Birmingham city centre for city workers, friends and families. The project, run by Birmingham New Millennium (Metropole) Brass Band is led and created by Iain Masson who is founder and Musical Director.

The project will see city brass and percussion players performing together across the city, region and beyond as a non-contesting weekly brass band, training band and beginner groups, will be one of the first new independent brass band organisations set up in Birmingham city centre in over a century. The Metropole Tuesday night band will be the first of the groups to launch on the project.

Metropole Brass is housed at Polish Millennium House on Bordesley Street, Birmingham (near Selfridges), rehearsing on Tuesdays in term-time, 7.30-9.30pm. Membership is £3.00 per rehearsal in the hat, or £1.00 for NUS card holders, free for the unemployed or those who cannot afford to take part. The band entry level is approx. Grade 5 and upwards. The band will perform around the city, across the region and beyond. The project is supported by Birmingham Polish Club.
