Iain is the former Resident Pianist of the Swallow Hotel Dundee, Wigmore's Wine Bar and Bistro in the famous seaside town of Broughty Ferry and Bar Epernay Champagne Piano Bar in the Mailbox Birmingham, home of BBC Birmingham. He has also on occasion played at the five star Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews and on many country estates.
Iain has performed for national and international clientele, corporate functions and events, charity banquets, exhibitions and trade shows, as well as touring sports teams. He performed for chefs including celebrity TV chef Brian Turner. As Resident Pianist at Bar Epernay, he took part in a live broadcast of BBC One's Working Lunch during regional hospitality sector coverage of the Chancellor's Pre-Budget Report, presented from the Mailbox by Adrian Chiles. He is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
He was taught by Maureen Rutherford, Pauline Robertson and Kathleen Renilson.
He offers patient, steady, thorough and methodical musical guidance to all his students. His student pass rate is 100% with 20 years of tutoring experience.
In 2015, he was proudly conferred with Honorary Membership of Birmingham Conservatoire for services to music.
