NSYO 2001 Castleton Hall Orchestral Weekend 09.03.01

Iain Masson conducted the New Streetly Youth Orchestra on its March 2001 trip to Castleton Hall, Derbyshire, despite the Foot and Mouth disease causing huge disruption around the country. The Orchestra, which was firstly scheduled to hold the weekend in Ilam, switched the venue to Edale, and finally ended up in Castleton after much organisational chaos! Organisers endured much upheaval trying to secure a venue for the musicians to stay in. The Orchestra members enjoyed the opportunity to rehearse and have some fun, making big improvements over the three day trip.
